Thursday marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and we're going to be celebrating it with Sustainable Silver Lake at Spaceland. It is mildly amusing to have an Earth Day event at a place called Spaceland, but I digress.A Promise for the Planet is going to be a fun event with a message. All kinds of folk will be making pledges to adopt at least one more Earth-friendly practice in their lives. Visitors can also talk to experts about sustainable living. DubLAB will DJ, KCRW's Anthea Raymond will MC and photographer Douglas Hill will record the event.
The event goes from 12-5 pm at Spaceland, 1717 Silverlake Blvd. We'll arrive in our truck powered by good old recycled veggie oil!
